Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago Gets New Board

The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) now has a new Board headed by Senior Counsel Gilbert Peterson. Seven other Directors were also appointed on May 9, 2016 at the Ministry’s Head Office, NALIS Building, Corner Hart and Abercromby Streets, Port of Spain.

Minister Cuffie, Minister of Public Administration and Communications noted that this appointment was long overdue while also underscoring the fact that members had a number of pressing matters to consider including ensuring operators of telecommunications licences and concessions are able to operate more effectively.

The Telecommunications Authority is responsible for regulating both telecommunications and broadcasting sectors, managing spectrum and number resources, establishing equipment and service quality standards, setting guidelines to prevent anti-competitive prices and encouraging investment in order to facilitate the availability of affordable telecommunications and broadcasting services to all.
