The National Museum and Art Gallery of Trinidad and Tobago Fine Art Collection consists of approximately a thousand pieces. The collection includes paintings, sculpture and installation works that span more than one hundred and fifty years of art making in Trinidad and Tobago. The Micheal Jean Cazabon Collection is the oldest collection of works at the Museum dated between the years of 1847 to 1857. The collection also includes twenty eight (28) paintings by Margret Mann who was a student of Cazabon during her time in Trinidad. The Fine Art Collection is relatively young by international standards. It consists of objects acquired by transfer from other government agencies, through donation and bequest, and by purchase.
